Where do acronyms come from, how are they popularized?
How do we come to adopt them and use them instead of something else?
The first acronym after USA in 1776 was "OK" and
was popularized as a joke in the newspaper.
This piece exhibited in the group show Rivulet at Antenna gallery (summer, 2024) examines acronyms used in the North American lexicon between 1776 and 1955.
It was created as a thoughtpiece on how acronyms have been introduced
into our groupspeak up until the present day.
